Celebrating Collaboration: IIG at Swiss Contact’s 30th Anniversary of the SEC Programme

On December 6, 2024, IIG had the immense honor of being invited as an exhibiting SEC (Senior Expert Contact) Partner by Swiss Contact to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their Senior Expert Contact Programme in Nepal. This prestigious event, organized at the iconic Yak and Yeti Hotel, marked three decades of Swiss Contact’s remarkable contributions to skill development and industry growth in Nepal.

For years, IIG has proudly collaborated with Swiss Contact to bring seasoned experts from the global culinary industry to Nepal. These senior experts, with their vast international experience, have trained and mentored our students, offering invaluable insights and skills that align with global culinary standards.

The event was a testament to this fruitful collaboration. Our students, brimming with creativity and talent, set up a vibrant stall that showcased a selection of their culinary creations. Guests indulged in rich and gooey almond brownies, irresistible choco chip and fudge cookies, and the exclusive Raffaello cake—a true highlight of the day.

The students not only impressed with their baking prowess but also demonstrated their entrepreneurial skills by engaging with attendees and selling their products. This real-world exposure provided them with a golden opportunity to develop essential soft skills like communication, teamwork, and customer interaction, giving them a confidence boost that will serve them well in their future careers.

Participating in such a prestigious event was an enriching experience for our students, allowing them to translate their classroom learning into practice. Seeing their hard work culminate in beautifully crafted, sellable products was a moment of pride for both the students and the institute.
